Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Tuesday, Oct. 31: At 10:01 am a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 600 block of School St in Churdan. At 1:32 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 600 block of 18th St N in Grand Junction.
Monday, Oct. 30: At 8:19 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of W. Main St in Grand Junction. At 1:20 pm a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch at 160th St and L Ave in Highland Township. Amy Purdie, 37, of Jefferson had slide into the ditch with here 2014 Honda Accord. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Sunday, Oct. 29: At 7:30 am a deputy investigated a single car accident on 230th St near Falcon Ave in Jackson Township. Jesse Sommers, 32, of North Bend, NE, put a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu in the ditch causing no or little damage to the vehicle. Sommers was cited for failure to maintain control and driving without a license. At 5:50 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 4 just south of Jefferson. James Teusch, 51, of Jefferson struck a deer with his 2016 Honda Civic. There were no injuries to persons. Damage to the vehicle was estimated to exceed value. The vehicle was estimated to be totaled in the accident. There were no injuries.
Saturday, Oct. 28: At 3:01 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Way.
Friday, Oct. 27: At 11:52 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the 600 block of N. Olive St.
Thursday, Oct. 26: At 3 pm the sheriff’s office and the Jefferson PD conducted a narcotic search warrant in the 700 block of W. Harrison St in Jefferson. At 3:08 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 800 block of 110th St in Adaza.
Wednesday, Oct. 25: At 8:17 am the sheriff and K-9 Leo assisted the Panora police department with a search of the school. There was nothing located. Stuart police department and the Dallas county sheriff’s office also assisted with their K-9s. At 6:33 pm a deputy investigated a camper fire on A Ave and County Road N-58 (250th St). The camper was being taken to the salvage yard and a tire caught on fire. Scranton Fire responded and put the fire out.
Tuesday, Oct. 24: At 12:39 am a deputy put the road closed signs back up on Highway 30 at the overpass near Grand Junction. At 9:50 am Robert Thoma Jr, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine- first offense, and possession of marijuana- first offense*. At 10:50 am Jacob Grife, 18, of Berns City was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana- first offense. At 8:15 pm a deputy assisted the Webster County sheriff’ s office with trying to locate a female near Dana. At 10:41 pm a deputy investigated an assault in an alley in Grand Junction.
Monday, Oct. 23: At 10:47 am a deputy investigated a theft complaint near County Road N-58 (A Ave) and 185th St in Kendrick Township. At 7:36 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 4 near 250th St south of Jefferson. Jordan Teeples, 17, of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2012 Dodge Charger.
Sunday, Oct. 22: At 4:43 pm a deputy removed an opossum from a residence in the 300 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Oct. 21: At 1:58 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest at Sparky’s on Highway 30. At 1:43 p a deputy picked up a bicycle on Quaker Ave and 265th St in Grant Township.
Friday, Oct. 20: At 1:53 pm a deputy tried to locate a snake in a residence in the 1500 block of County Road E-53 (235th St) east of Jefferson.
Thursday, Oct. 19: At 6:24 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 300 block of Hager St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, Oct. 18: At 4:14 pm Joseph Flanagan, 37, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for a sex offender registry violation from Carroll County*. At 6:58 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 144 near 185th St in Junction Township. David Wells, 64, of Paton struck a deer with his 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck. Damage to the truck was estimated at $300. At 8:37 pm a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 4 near 250th St south of Jefferson. David Mohr, 41, of Ogden entered the east ditch, causing an estimated $5,000 in damage to his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Mohr was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense*. At 10:56 pm a deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 800 block of Main St East in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, Oct. 17: At 7:59 am a deputy was called to a car-deer accident on Highway 30 at County Road P-14 (J Ave). A state trooper covered the accident. At 10:36 am a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 900 block of Locust St in Scranton. At 10:57 a deputy investigated an aggressive dog in the 500 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 6:05 pm a deputy investigated a two-car accident at the intersection of P-29 (N Ave) and Highway 4 in Dawson Township. Alvaro Gonzales, 44, of Denison was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger (direction of travel not provided) and failed to stop at stop sign and yield the right of way. He struck Jake Berns, 18, of Lohrville, who was driving a 1993 Toyota SR5 pickup truck. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were totaled. Gonzales was cited for failure to stop, failure to yield, and failure to have financial security liability. At 6:28 pm a deputy investigated a fireworks complaint in the 800 block of Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of someone on the roof of the school in Grand Junction. At 8:51 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Monday, Oct. 16: At 6:10 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the 600 block of N. Olive St. At 8:57 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 237th St and G Ave. Cassidy Adamson, 19, of Scranton struck a deer with a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. There was little damage to the vehicle.
Sunday, Oct. 15: At 9:39 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of County Road E-57 (290th St) in Greenbrier Township. At 1:59 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the 300 block of S. Grimmell Rd. At 8:54 pm a deputy investigated a fire in the 1600 block of M Ave in Jackson Township.

Friday, Oct. 13: A 3:34 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the 100 block of E. Central Ave. At 9:25 pm a deputy investigated a small fire near 8th and Main St in Scranton. The fire was legal. At 10:31 pm a deputy investigated a car in the ditch at 210th St and V Ave near Grand Junction. Lori Johnson, 52, of Ogden lost control of her vehicle ad entered the ditch. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Thursday, Oct. 12: At 7:25 am a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 217th St near V Ave near Grand Junction. Dominik Elder, 22, of Oskaloosa lost control of his 2011 Chrysler LM and went into the ditch, causing an estimated $5,000 in damage to the vehicle. Elder was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
Wednesday, Oct. 11: At 4:50 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of Howard St in Rippey. At 7:10 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 700 block of State St in Scranton. At 7:34 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Kirkwood Ave and County Road E-53 west of Jefferson. Abbey Binkley, 24, of Jefferson struck a deer. Damage to the 2011 Ford Explorer she was driving was estimated at $2,000.
Tuesday, Oct. 10: At 6:28 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on County Road N-65 (D Ave) near 177th St in Kendrick Township. Diane Kirby, 52, of Jefferson struck a deer with her 2014 Dodge Durango. There was little damage to the vehicle. At 7:24 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident. Jane Millard, 55, of Jefferson struck three deer on County Road E-53 near County Road P-33 (S Ave) west of Grand Junction. The 1993 Chevrolet truck she was driving was totaled.
Monday, Oct. 9: At 6:10 am a deputy investigated a parking complaint in the 400 block of Main St in Scranton. At 6:55 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on County Road N-65 (D Ave) near 130th St in Cedar Township. Bernard Beckman, 54, of Earlham struck a deer with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Damage to the truck was estimated at $5,000. At 12:4w7 pm a deputy picked up two dogs in the 700 block of M Ave in Bristol Township. At 419 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle roll over accident on 217th St and V Ave near Grand Junction. Bol Jack, 52, of Storm Lake lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and rolled into the ditch. He was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
Sunday, Oct. 8: At 1:26 pm a deputy investigated a dog running at large in the 800 block of Hills Ave in Churdan.
Saturday, Oct. 7: At 1:18 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with locating a barred driver. At 4:44 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 230th St near V Ave south of Grand Junction. John Vanderheiden, 28, of Glidden lost control of his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the rough road. There was damage to the vehicle.
Friday, Oct. 6: At 1:22 am a deputy investigated an alarm in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction. At 8:15 am a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping at Seven Hills Park. At 1:35 pm a deputy investigated a theft of a vehicle registration in Greenbrier Township, Section 25. At 8:22 pm a deputy investigated a criminal trespass complaint on the railroad tracks at 19th St in Grand Junction. At 9:49 pm a deputy assisted the Ogden police department with locating a male subject in Grand Junction.
Thursday, Oct. 5: At 1:20 am a deputy investigated an alarm in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction. At 3:02 am a deputy investigated an alarm in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 7:18 am a deputy and the Paton fire department responded to a fire at the John Deere plant in Paton. At 4:04 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle rollover on Redwood Ave Near R Ave in Grant Township. Alexander Roberts, 16, of Jefferson lost control of his vehicle entered the ditch and rolled the 1999 Saturn. The vehicle was a total loss. Roberts was cited for failure to maintain control. At 5:23 pm a deputy arrested Amanda Abrams, 28, of Panora on arrest warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance- second offense*.
Wednesday, Oct. 4: At 3:38 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a subject shooting a bb gun at the intersection of State and Grant Sts in Scranton. At2:37 pm a deputy investigated a car window that was shot out in the 800 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. At 6:47 pm a deputy investigated a fire that was out in the 1600 block of 267th St in Grant Township. The property owner was burning trash and was not aware of the burn ban. At 7:42 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Highway 30 near County Road P-33 west of Grand Junction.
Tuesday, Oct. 3: At 8:31 am a deputy picked up a dog that was running at large in the 1000 block of County Road E-53 (240th St) in Jackson Township. At 5:01 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite that occurred on Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Monday, Oct. 2: At 5:27 am a deputy investigated a barn fire in the area of County Road P-40 (U Ave) and County Road E-57 (290th St) west of Rippey. The Rippey fire department and Grand Junction fire and rescue responded. At 5:35 am a deputy investigated a car that was struck by lightning and caught fire. Brandi Medina, 39, of Norwalk was traveling south on Highway 144 when her car was struck by lightning. The 2008 Chrysler 300 was a total loss. Grand Junction Fire responded to the scene. At 9:45 am a deputy investigated a trespass complaint on S. 9th and W. Main St in Grand Junction. At 1:07 pm a deputy picked up two dogs on County Road E-26 near Highway 4 in N Avenue and took them to the animal impound facility. At 2:05 pm a deputy tried to locate two dogs running at large on Highway 25 near County Road E-57 (290th St) in Willow Township.
Sunday, Oct. 1: At 1:42 pm a deputy assisted the Boone County sheriff’s office with a theft investigation.
